A: Tryouts will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Q: What should I bring for tryouts?
A: Sign up for the tryout and a CHRVA tryout membership and bring a copy or photo of your membership card.
Q: When is the club season?
A: The club season typically runs from Thanksgiving through early May. Teams will have different end dates depending on their tournament schedules.
Q: What are the club fees?
A: For the 2023-2024 season the club fees are $1000.
Q: When are club fees due?
A: Club fees are due in one payment of $1,000 (November 16th) or two payments of $500 (November 16th/January 16th) using our SportsEngine website.
Q: What do club fees cover?
A: Club fees cover 12 sessions of strength and conditioning training, 2 jerseys, warm-ups (hoodie and pants), tournament entrance fees, practice gyms, and insurance.
Q: What is strength and conditioning training?
A: CVA will be offering all players 12 strength and conditioning sessions designed specifically for athletes. These sessions will be held throughout the season (Calendar TBD). This training focuses on the body movements required to participate in volleyball and will be run by Jack Patterson, who conducts similar training for the Cecil College Volleyball team. Jack is a certified Parisi Master Coach.
Q: Where is the club located?
A: We are located in Cecil County, MD. Our practice locations are typically in North East and Rising Sun.
Q: When do you practice?
A: We practice 2 times per week for 1.5-2 hours each practice. We will also have strength and conditioning training clinics available to all teams.
Q: How many tournaments do you participate in?
A: We plan for 10 tournament days per season.
Q: Where do you play?
A: We play in tournaments in Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Southern New Jersey. Most tournaments are within 2 hours of Cecil County, MD.
Q: What age groups do you play in?
A: We have 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U teams. We mostly play in Club and Open level tournaments.
